These magazines are extremely different. The bad one is bad because, the whole layout just looks very dull and boring. They also put Demi Moore I some boring and unflattering colors. There is nothing on the magazine that would captivate my attention. She looks very creepy and unattractive. The fonts aren’t very consistent either. My good cover is good because, it has a couple that everyone likes on the front. It also has bright and inviting colors on it. The way the fonts are it’s a variety but they also coincide with one another. They have interesting subtitles that would make me interested in buying the magazine if I was in the store. One thing this magazine did better than the bad magazine I picked was that they used real famous people that they knew people would want to read about. The different fonts are intriguing and interesting. They make you want to look inside the magazine. For the bad magazine if they had a more famous person they wouldn’t need to put her name in bold, as for the good magazine everyone knows Will and Jada so they didn’t need to make their names so big because it takes away from the magazine. On the good magazine, they also have more things inside the magazine than the other one does. It looks like you get more for your money. In the other one they only had a few sub titles on the cover so it looks as if you are buying a magazine that does not have much inside of it. Also the color appeal, the bad one had darker and duller colors and for the other one they have brighter and happier colors, to make it look like something you would want to get. These two magazines are very distinct and different in their own ways.
GOOD MAG
ReplyDeleteWhen I noticed this magazine, I loved it because it used mostly the gray scale to edit the image, which I thought was great. Using the gray scale made it very simple, but interesting to look at. This made it interesting to look at because you start to wonder how the editor was able to balance out the color scheme on the gray scale. The waythe editor used the sky blue for the title I though was genius. The stylist and photographer did great as well. The pink shoes also add some positivity to the image.
The photographer did a great job capturing spring in New York. The scenery was also done well. The way I feel the photographer added to the scenery was the fact that the dress was bouncing through the wind, the vibrant smile and body language of the model, and the way her hair bounces through the wind.
The next thing that I noticed was the topography. The transformation of the text " spring fashion issue " was done excellently. It looks as if it is actually there on the ground. I noticed that The main scenery, such as the model, the title, the people's names, and what exactly the magazine is about are the only things that are made perfectly. If you look closely, it seems as if everything else is a tad bit blurry.
There is not much text on the magazine cover, but yet it captures the main points and what the magazine is about. To add it is also still a beautiful cover that is production quality.
BAD MAG
This magazine is exactly the opposite of all of the compliments given about the first magazine. The magazine uses a boring color scheme comprised of purple, yellow, and neutral colors. Instead of a beautiful, easy on the eyes layout as the first magazine, this magazine used a cover that could easily offend anyone, which is not the best idea. Also on this magazine it's hard to tell what the editor wants you to look at first. It does not place any emphasis on one particular thing.
